$2.69 for 250.

Shipping=$7.83!!!!

I know I complain about this ALL the time but it really kills me. Certainly doesn't cost anywhere near that to mail some lightweight papers.

Don't need to tell you I cancelled the order.

Have you tried to deal with any of these people? I was ordering some of the bands you use to truss

a chicken for the rotisserie. I use string, but my friend hasn't figured it out, also she doesn't do searches for stuff online. Anyway, it was very light and price was I think $5-6? The wanted something like $13-14 S&H because they only use UPS. I asked if they had mail leaving there and why couldn't they just put them in an envelope and even go first clas for $3-4. She had to ask, but they did it.
I just about refuse to pay those shipping fees!
BTW, local kitchen store here has some bands made of silicon, will check on price and let you know if anyone uses them?
Nan

Great timing to pop in! Try eBay....I have bought them there....

if you are looking for the waxed paper twisting papers. Many times I just spend 10 mins and cut a bunch. It's not hard if you rip the waxed paper off in same lengh strips, stack them, then cut in 1/3's.

I've used the pretty foil wrappers but they stick to that more.

No one seems to mind the waxed papers ones but I'd love to find professional papers that are pretty! (and I could afford the shipping on)

I have a 4 lb order so I'll be cutting mine tomorrow.

Let me know what you come up with and thanks! Glad to know you think they are TDF! smileys/smile.gif

Let me see what I have. I bought wrappers for Gayle's caramel--I ended up putting it in jars.

I'm sure I could mail mine to you cheaper than $7.83. That is, if I kept them. That was a pretty frustating day and there's a good possibility they ended up in the garbage....like the cardboard model of the GBH yesterday.

Nan- I go to the deli at my local market when I run out and they give me a handful (about 50) and

don't charge me. Lasts me quite a while. Why not ask at yours?

Thanks for the offer, Michael. Someone pm'd me and said she was going shopping tomorrow

and would pick them up and mail them to me.

This site has the NICEST people. I'm so glad I'm a part of it!

One of the green chile purveyors online charge a $50 shipping surcharge so the $25 order of

chiles costs $75, plus shipping...! Thanks to y'all's help I found a better (reasonable) purveyor but REALLY!!!!!!
Shock - Horror!

If you have a Container Store close by, they sell food-grade

cellophane wrap on a roll at Christmas time. I buy that and cut it in squares for my chewy pralines.
