wigs

making Croissant Breakfast Casserole - posted by deb-in-MI? I think I remember that cheezz has made it. The ingredient amounts don't seem enough to me to warrant using a 9x13" so are we talking an 8 x 10" casserole dish, or is the 9x13" better? TIA! Wigs

Sorry, tried to help; did searches; seems like a well rec'd recipe, but only says rectangle.

Hopefully, Dawn, Deb, Cheez, etc will chime in. Everyone seems to say it is a flexible recipe, I would go with 9x13 if you are adding the extra ham that was suggested.

wigs, I've used both. It's a bread custard, so if it looks dry-ish, just add one

more egg and 1/4 C more milk.

And if you're really concerned, watch the baking time if it looks thinner than you suspect it should. It will puff up and then sink back slightly as it cools.

I went out to the original source and one comment said they used an 11x7" pan.

COMMENT: "Used 8 cocktail-sized croissants from Costco which fit nicely in an 11x7 dish."

Other folks used round pie pans.

One woman used 8x8 and found it too small:

"I baked mine in an 8X8 square pan, not the rectangle pan as stated, for 40 minutes and the middle was still runny, so I had to microwave each serving so the middle would firm up."

Lots of good substitutions in the comment section.

Thx, Barb- I couldn't find anything either frm anyone else here. No, I'm NOT adding any meat 2 the

dish so that was why I thought I would B wise 2 check with a cook who'd actually made this recipe.

Other overnight breakfast casseroles that I've fixed in the past call 4 something along the lines of 8 eggs + larger amts of cheeses and liquid than what is listed in this particular recipe.

I certainly appreciate your taking the time to check, though. Anybody out there who's actually made this? If so, what size dish did U use, please?

Thank you, Marilyn! I suspected an 11x7" or an 8x10" would do the trick if no meat's added.

I sure appreciate your taking the time to track down the original source with the 11x7" pan mentioned. Wigs

Glad you have a plan. Know what it is like trying work on recipes while at work.... Glad to help,

or at least try to help! : )
