Here's a photo of my completed doll cake, which I made for my granddaughter's First Communion, yesterday. The cake was a big hit. I'm an old pro now, so if anyone wants to make one from scratch, let me know. Special thanks to MarilynFl for the mousseline buttercream recipe. It was a dream to work with. (Hope this link works. I've never done it before.)

I made the daisies from fondant, and covered the cake with it too. Getting it to drape was a bit rocky, so I made fondant pleats for the skirt before trying to drape it. (The ribbon hides a multitude of goofs.) I had planned to pipe string work between the daisies, but decided to leave well enough alone, since I'm not an expert with a pastry bag. Thanks for all the great feedback. This is a wonderful site!
