I didn't think you'd see it up there so I'm moving it to the bottom.

We'll be in Manhattan May 1-8, then we'll be heading out to the 'Guyland to stay with dear friends on the north shore for some downtime and battery recharging before heading back to the 'Nati.

The only scheduled event at this time is the Saturday night concert of the Bayerische Rundfunk Symphonie-Orchester at Carnegie (Mahler #7!!! Richard's birthday present to Richard smileys/wink.gif. The MET schedule looked rather blah during that time so we'll be skipping that and trying to see a few plays on Broadway. The plays usually don't run very long, so hard to plan for May on that.

Would love to see you and George (MoNJ? Erin and Sandra know the schedule, but Sandra may not be available), meet up for lunch, a tea, or whatever. (I still think about that Chinese banquet we enjoyed together a couple of years ago!)

Although I only have the one evening committed so far, it will depend on all the friends and their schedules and when they're available. It can get quite frantic. I told Tim, since we have a suite that we should just have everyone in all at the same time for a cocktail party. LOL

Anyone else in Manhattan the first week of May?

Not in NY but may I suggest a play?

Go see Come From Away. As an ESL teacher, I loved the interactions of the Newfoundlers and those airline passengers and personnel who were stranded there on 9-11. You will laugh and you may cry, too. I did.

Thanks for the suggestion

I actually know two people who met when they were both grounded in Newfoundland on 9-11 and became great friends.

Hi! I have marked our calendar. We always enjoy our get togethers! I need to

be back for kid pick up, so early lunch is best for me. I leave the restaurant choice to you, e and S. I can do 5/1, 5/2, 5/4 or 5/7.

You should definitely do a cocktail party! (We wouldn't be able to join you, but such a fun experience in manhattan with a suite!~... Pre-kids, we went to them... Very memorable!)

I put the dates on hold, catch up as the date gets closer.

Best,
Barb

Barb, I've been doing some trip planning..

and I am stunned at all the Biergartens and Kellers that have appeared in Manhattan over the last 5-10 years!

Is German going to be the new "it" cuisine?

There are like 30 or so German restaurants/biergartens/pubs, etc. that opened in the city now!!!

Totally wild.

I'm also planning a trip up to see a friend. If I book a flight around the first few days of May

Will I hit the right time? Would love to meet all of you!

My meet-ups with Sandra, Angie, Lana, Colleen and Judy were great fun.

NYC hotels are very expensive so I'll need to limit my time there.

They are fun! Very laid back atmosphere. We went with the kids to the one in JC, lots of

locals, kids, large tables where you make new friends. Food was great! The largest Pretzel I have ever seen (and devoured!)

Looking forward to your visit!
