Rinse, dry *thoroughly*, place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 30-60 minutes (until firm or almost firm). Then scoop into ziplock bags and seal flat.
If you have a food saver, that works extra well for long-term storage.
Hi Junebug! I was thinking about a dehydrator with Marilyn's Amazon
gift. This time of year I scramble to capture enough "summer" to last through til next summer. And I was thinking about dehydrating the excess plums suggested in a thread above. We have used the oven but I still think I could/would enjoy the machine. Maybe there will be an opportunity for me to pick one up at a thrift or garage sale. Thanks for your suggestion! Colleen
with maximum trays (12, I think). We dry plums, pears, apples, blueberries, cherries, peppers, tomatoes. Pears are THE BEST! Last year I tried drying watermelon. It was...interesting.
