Blast from the past video, how to use your food processor 1998

My fp came w a vhs tape I never watched. I assume this is it.

I have the 14 cup processor in this video and of all the things shown, 99.9% of the time I use it for pie crusts. The only other thing I think I’ve done is cold slaw, grating cheddar cheese, and once I used it for cheesecake when I was doing something else in my KA mixer. Those other things I’ve done likely less times I can count on one hand, but I don’t have the counter space to leave it out. I’m not sure I’ve ever used the mixer attachment, even here it seems like it might break doing cookie dough and I don’t know why for sure, but whipping cream in a plastic bowl has always seemed wrong to me.

if you own a food processor, how have you used yours?

I mostly use mine for shredding or slicing large quantities of vegetables and shredding block cheeses. I have to weigh out in my mind given the quantity I need, would I rather shred by hand or wash the processor? LOL. Pizza or pie dough, dip ingredients occasionally. My Cuisinart didn't come with the beater contraption. I love my julienne disk and do use it on occasion. Fortunately, I have always had room to store in a cabinet.
I just remembered this recipe from Pat. Great recipe and use of processor. Parsley, no cilantro! 🤢

I probably should use it more now I have it on a cart shelf in the kitchen, but I often forget about it Bc for yrs I didn’t have a dishwasher and cleaning it took longer than using a knife. However, now I can pop it in the dishwasher.

I use mine frequently. It mixes pastry dough, pasta dough, chops veggies for mirepoix, making hummus, salsa, pesto, gazpacho...
I also use it to turn stale bread cubes into bread crumbs, chop nuts if I need a pile for a recipe. There are also a couple of cookie recipes that I mix in it.
The FP doesn't sit on my counter, but it's stored in a cabinet right where I do most of my prep.
