Blocking a user

If you don’t wish to see another user’s postings, the BLOCK function is an available option. To block a user, click on their name to access their profile page. For this example, a user wants to block “sackville” and has accessed their profile page. At the top, there is a green BLOCK button. After selecting the button, a window will pop up asking you to confirm your decision:

Block Member?

Please confirm you want to block this member.

You will no longer be able to:

  • See blocked member's posts
  • Mention this member in posts
  • Invite this member to groups
  • Message this member
  • Add this member as a connection

Please note: This action will also remove this member from your connections and send a report to the site admin. Please allow a few minutes for this process to complete.

After confirmation, it takes a few minutes for the block to propagate. For bests results you should log out. The next time you log in, the blocked member should be fully blocked by you, including the blocked member’s posts. Note this is an INDIVIDUAL “one user to another user” function. It is not all-inclusive and will not block others from seeing their posts.

To view your blocked users, go to your profile page (click on your name), click on Account Settings and select BLOCKED MEMBERS. There you can see all users you have blocked. To reverse your decision, select the UNBLOCK button.

Note the moderator of this site is informed when users are blocked. Users who are consistently disruptive to the site may be banned. Please use this site with courtesy and politeness toward others.
