Bon Appétit Magazine - Cooking from the Archives

How much fun! I thought of Richard when I read about the Flaming Eggnog Wassail

Bowl. Marilyn immediately came to mind when I reviewed the article on making a Shrimp Christmas Tree.

I have personally made 4 or 5 of the 7-layer Sandwich Cakes for some of my older catering clients (at their requests!!!) back in the day.

And remember all those jello salads and jello desserts? AAMOF, I STILL have my Tupperware jello molds which are now used to chill items such as an appetizer I serve with crackers called Shrimp Mousse.

Thanks, GayR, for the little waltz down memory lane!

Look at the jello salad. Yuck. This will be fun to explore. Trying to find a recipe for snapper with

a tomato-based sauce from about 79.

I wish I had not left all my old mags behind.

I should have said that was one published at about the same time but

not the one. I wish I could remember the name. It wasn't an uncommon name.

I made the vera cruz then but didn't like it as much.

No but thank you for trying to give my mind some relief. I spent an hour looking through BA's

resources yesterday with no success. One Christmas, my husband photocopied my entire collection of food mags' indices and catalogued them. Unfortunately, he did only F&W and not BA.

I'll make something up and pretend it's the one.
