Broke my favorite apple crumble pottery dish.

I have a "problem cupboard" (probably you have one, too). I can never get everything to fit in there properly. I was making lasagna and needed a glass pan. So I got that out, and put everything back in. I wasn't sure it was all balanced properly, but I needed to pay attention to my sauce, so I turned away to stir it, even though I KNEW things weren't balanced. Right then, everything burst through the cupboard door and landed on the floor, shattering a glass loaf pan (which I didn't care about) and my favorite fluted pottery pie dish (which I loved; it was a wedding gift).

I hate it when I do stupid things. Sob.

Quick! Start searching on e-bay, or etsy . . .

and you will probably find one just like it. Of course it will not have the same "flavor" of the one you were given for your marriage, but you can always see if you can keep it whole even longer!

I am still looking for a "Desertware" 14 or 16 inch platter. I got this from my mom and had it for 20 some-odd years and I broke it--when it slipped, unbalanced, out of a cupboard! The hunt continues--I found and purchased a 12" platter that looks just like the one I broke, but it is smaller . . .

I agree...you can set-up a search to follow and ebay will email you when a matching item is listed.

I've done this many times.

I'd vote for the Etsy search...

but then, being an Etsy seller, I m a bit biased.

I love making fluted pie plates, and I know that there are plenty to be found on Etsy that are handmade and OOAK.
