Btw, my Costco no longer carries La Brea bread. Is this just regional? The whole grain loaves were

wonderful in the strata recipe, above. There was also a very good sourdough. The La Brea breads have been replaced by huge round loaves that seem to big to rise correctly. The whole grain bread I tried is a bit sweet and has too moist a crumb without much structure. I've not tried the sourdough, etc.

To my knowledge ours never have--and particularly if they

are a "take and bake" as you seem to describe by "not rising". Our Harris Teeter stores carry LaBrea--or used to--that they baked on premise.

they also carry our local smoked salmon and sausages from Ak Sausage and Seafood and also

from Indian Valley meats. both local Anchorage area. I need to come up with something fabulous to pitch to Costco here locally. set for life.

No, the bread was sold fully baked. La brea was also sold in FL as well as here. I hope this is a

short term thing as MIchael mentioned. Ang, that's great Costco carries local products. I don't think they do that here. Except for the sticky toffee pudding from a bakery in Austin but I think that's also in other states around Christmas.

We had it too, but haven't checked lately...will next time I go. They changed my good flour though.

I used to get Baker's Craft organic from Central Mills and now they still carry it, but it's only AP flour now. Also, went from 25lb bag to 2 10lb ones.

They have a way of doing that. They had San Marzano tomatoes for awhile, the real thing with the

D.O.P. stamp. They were sooo good. And they used to carry a really good Danish blue cheese in the half round containers. They changed to a Kirkland brand and it's not nearly as good. That's my opinion.
