Kevin makes the best recipes...always so colorful and well thought out

I've been following him for years, even emailed him about food photo questions and he always answers. He has a very small kitchen and manages to come up with some great tweaks of recipes he sees or his own creations.

While he does seem pleasant (and VERY polite ... I mean he's Canadian, what would you expect) I've

found his recipes fairly derivative.

 
Derivative? I am familiar with the word in relation to stocks, math but cannot grasp what you mean

in relation to his rather simple recipes. Might you be referring to the amount of ingredients in relation to each other?
