This is a Laura Calder dish from her cookbook Paris Express. It is unusual, fun, and tasty and makes a quick dish for 4 in no time. I bet kids would love this dish. Be sure to take the dish off heat before adding the hot water, and have your fan on above your cooking area.
Recipe in her book did not have the onions in the pasta, instead called for sliced green onions tossed over the top at the finish, which is what I did.
Next time I am adding fresh garlic to cook the last minute of the browning process and before the water goes in.
