It's my first time loading an image (special thanks to Sandi in Hawaii's directions:) - don't know how to do two at a time (or make a sub-album on Photobucket).

Anyway - the party is in a few hours - 75 at our house. It is being catered except for the desserts - I've got that.

This cake is four layers of a white cake, with two layers filled with lemon curd and the other two filled with a mixture of lemon curd, cream cheese, and white chocolate. Then in is frosted with a vanilla buttercream.

On the menu:

shrimp cocktail

platters of fruits and veggies

balsamic pear bruschetta

gorgonzola canapes

cheese platters

poached salmon w/ an orange sauce

beef tenderloin w/ a horseradish sauce

pecan honey chicken

I asked everyone to bring, in liu of gifts, a 'good fortune' for my parents. We will them make a memory book, along with pictures, for them. And the favours for every one to take as they leave are fortune cookies (in take-out boxes:) that I had made up w/ a couple of fortunes such as: "It is our family's good fortune that you shared this special occasion with us".

Okay...now to go get dressed!

They sound as delicious as they look. Only the hostess with the mostest could find time

to post pictures when 75 people are on their way over. I'm sure you're all having an amazing time.

Deb, The cakes look beautiful! What an act of love to make them! Your parents look so happy! (m)

I love the fortune cookie favors! Did you make them? What other "fortunes" did you write? What a lovely party! I am thinking of recreating the fortune cookies for an upcoming party.

What a special day you had! I am sure it will be a special day that will be treasured by all!!

Regards,
Barb
