Calling all Loblaw's shoppers. Not sure if this is new, but I just found it...burger buns that

are thin -- almost as thin as pita...in whole wheat and multi-grain. They are perfect. No big bulky empty-calorie white buns.

They don't fall apart, freeze better than buns.

Made by PC.

JUST had those last night!!!

I found them in the store yesterday and had burgers with them last night. DH and the kids were skeptical but they decided they were good.) I liked the nice "fresh bread" smell they gave off when pulling them out of the oven for toasting. I very much enjoyed the burger with whole grain bun and less bread. They were easy to handle, didn't fall apart, and allowed you to enjoy the taste of the burger and toppings. They reminded me a bit of the bun used on the best burger I've ever had in my life...The EBA Burger from Everything But Anchovies in Hanover, New Hampshire, which was served on portuguese roll that looked a bit like an English muffin.

BTW. They bring them in frozen. So not to worry about their losing freshness if you freeze them.

They freeze beautifully.

I was not one to buy preprepared foods & tried PC skeptically. There are so many

fabulous prepared foods that I honestly cannot justify the time to make my own version.

I sure hope they get out of financial trouble. I'd miss them too.

President's Choice. The former pres had a great idea for creating & marketing products of

very high quality, phenomenal innovation and of travelling the world to seek out regional specialties.

Hugely successful. And very unique. It's what keeps this chain going. Other supermarket chains are trying the same thing now on a much smaller scale and with less worldly origin but the products are not innovative (most are copies of PC) and just not the quality.

My favourite: Escargots en Brioches...frozen. Individual little brioches, cut in half, with 1 escargot inside each, long with garlic butter/herbed. Just delicious.

He was fired. But that was political, I think.

Whenever we go to Toronto one of our favourite things to do is

browse the aisles of Loblaws for PC products. I so wish we had the equivalent in the States!
