Although I used this for the cupcakes I will definitely use it for cakes too. And 'thanks' for the feedback in my earlier post!
Blend in a small bowl:
1 T. espresso powder
1 T. cocoa
1 T. cold water
Blend:
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
When the butter mixture is light and fluffy, add the espresso powder mixture. If needed, thin frosting with a tad of milk or cream.
