Can I freeze jam?

I bought a 30oz can of apricot comfiture/jam at the middle eastern grocery. I used just a little for filling in some pastry. It tastes fabulous, but is more a thick pourable texture than American very thick jam. It will make terrific jam bars. I know I could bring it to a boil, pour it in a few sterilized jars & process it in a hot water bath, but freezing would be easier.

Yes you can. When thawed later if you don't like the consistency you just fix it

Jams are very forgiving. You might lose some flavor depending on how long you freeze it but the loss shouldn't be significant.

I make freezer jam every year from strawberries. I think freezer jam is the best

and you have chunks of the fruit in your jam, which I love. I use the recipe in the Sure-Gel folder inside the box. My MIL made it for years and she told me about it so I could continue to make it for her son!

Jam Bars for sure. I can't even express how GOOD this stuff tastes but it is not firm enough to stay

put. The flavor puts American apricot jam to shame.

This is very Russian...

They've used jam to flavor tea, punches, and vodka forever since they traditionally had no fresh fruits in the long cold winters.
