Can I make my own Eggos?

My sons had Eggos at a neighbor's house and are now clamoring for them. I just hate the idea of buying them, though. Can I just make waffles, freeze them and then warm them in the toaster like Eggos? Is there anything I am missing? I think they really like the idea of waffles in the toaster.

Thanks

Kathleen

I freeze pancakes and reheat them in the freezer so I think waffles

would work well too. Just don't get them too, too brown.

Kathleen, we always make a double batch of waffles and freeze some for later.

The trick, as Elenor said, is not to brown them excessively. We set the timer to cook the ones we freeze so they come out light, not dark. That way they come out perfect when toasted.

Play with your waffle maker and toaster a little and you should come out fine.

Oh, and sometimes the waffles stick together when frozen. We freeze them on a parchment-covered cookie sheet and then pop them into a zip lock bag. Works great!
