J judy-mass Well-known member Dec 28, 2009 #3 A quick calculation of area... tells me that the 8" square pan is almost identical to the 9" round pan. Should be no problem at all. I make these changes all the time. Just compare area of the pan bottom. As long as they are close, go for it.
