chocolate shop. It is really yummy, but, I just cut off a few bites (specifically the nose), and I am done. Can I melt this and use it somewhere / somehow? I do enjoy chocolate ice cream. Would that work? Or can I melt and use for chocolate covered strawberries? They would be a hit with neighbors. I just hate to throw it away. It has been sitting nicely in the fridge. (Makes me laugh when I open the fridge, because I think he is glaring at me, asking why did I eat his nose!)

I tried that once with bad results. The chocolate just wouldn't melt properly.

Maybe you could chop it up into chunks (like chocolate chips?) and use in cookies, muffins, or cake? Or you could shave bits off for sprinkling on other dishes.

My DD has three boys so she always has Easter Bunnies galore. She breaks them in hunks and chills

them well and makes chocolate chip cookies. Works well. She also freezes some of the bunnies for later use.

I wonder if you could contact the company that made it, since they're local, and...

...ask them what the composition is, and if they had any ideas on how it would 'behave' in other recipes.

Just a thought...

Michael

Do you really need to melt it, Barb? Grated/chopped chocolate works great for cakes (and ice cream).
