Can I refreeze chicken legs that I thawed, then marinated? I have too many to cook.

It's about 4 pounds of chicken legs and I'm here by myself.

What I'd like to do is marinate them in lemon juice/olive oil/herbs and then cook some and freeze the rest. I don't always have fresh herbs and lemons available, so prepping these would be great.

Problem is: these legs were already frozen and are now partially thawed.

Honestly, this seems like a stupidly simple question, but I don't cook meat often enough to feel comfortable refreezing and then finding out a month from now that it was wrong.

Yes Marilyn- go ahead and freeze. If chicken still is a bit frozen-partially thawed more the better.

I am with CathyZ; partially thawed is ok. It they are totally defrosted. . .

I suggest cooking all of them to just barely done, then freezing the leftover ones in small portions for future meals.
