Can you freeze corn on the cob?

If so, how?

I found out that one of the farms in the neighborhood sells corn on the cob (you go there and pick them right off the plant yourself). I and my better half went there yesterday and o.m.g!, it's THE best corn on the cob I've ever had. I want more. I need more, and I definitely could use some of this to get me through the winter!

yes - you just cut all the corn kernels off & quick freeze them on baking sheets, then bag 'em smileys/smile.gif nt

You can even prepare them ahead of time (see link) and freeze them!

Prepare the cobs whichever way you want them, then wrap them well in foil.

Take them out to thaw (give them at least 4 hrs, I'd say, but check them to make sure) and pop them in the oven for reheating.

I've done them ahead of time for camping, frozen them, then put them in the cooler frozer to help keep things cold in there. Take them out for cooking when thawed (or to thaw them), and put them in the coals for reheating. Wonderful!

Take the back of your knife and "milk" the cobs, then throw them in a pot with water and

optional veggies and proceed just like chicken stock. Be sure to throw the cobs in the water and it contributes great flavor.

Oh, I see now -- so it actually has little pieces of corn kernels in there, too

And I 'assume' the milk from the kernels goes in also? Good base for chowder.
