I was kind of intrigued by this recipe shown on a little insert with Marzetti caramel apple dip. I can see adapting it to use as a fruit dip instead of a frosting. It wouldn't be very stable anyplace warm but it was shown with a carrot cake and I do think it would taste nice and be ultra smooth.
19 (!) ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup caramel apple dip
Whip cream cheese, then beat in butter until smooth and fluffy. Beat in caramel apple dip by spoonfuls.
