thanks for listening.

smooch.

i'm treating myself to a fair amount of Patron Añejo...

cheaper and tastes better than apples.

yeah, but after sufficient Patron Añejo...

one questions the need for words - processed or in their natural state.

(Much throat clearing... followed by my best Joe Nichols singing impression)

"I told her put an extra layer on,
I know what happens when she drinks Patron.

Tequila makes her clothes fall off!"

... much applause and cheering! ..... and rvb - quick. .. put some layers on or draw the drapes!

You wanna know how mean Microsoft can be to a ten year old? Read on...

Here's the short version:

After many months of talks involving "responsibility", we get my 10 year old son an X Box (to play video games). He "babies" it, taking extra good care. A little over a year later, it breaks down. We call Microsoft, pay 80 bucks and send it in for repair.

It comes back 2 weeks later with a nice letter saying they fixed it, and they hope we continue to enjoy it.

It was not fixed. In fact, nothing had been done at all --it was still not working.

I called them back. They apologized, sent a box with a pre-paid shipping label, and said (on the phone, not in writing) that if they couldn't fix it, they would replace it for free.

Two weeks later, we get it back, with another letter. It said that this time they DID NOT fix it, because it has been TAMPERED WITH, and it is now OUR FAULT. We have yet to see a refund.

I get on the phone, complain to a supervisor that THEY are the only ones who have ever "tampered" with the thing. I'm told I have NO RECOURSE, and there is NO ONE to speak to. I told her I was sure she wasn't BILL FRICKIN' GATES, and there would have to be someone to speak to up the line. She said she never said she WAS BILL GATES, and that my options were at an end.

Next up: Corporate in Seattle.

How sad to work for a company that messes with a little kid who is trying to do everything right.

I hate Microsoft.

I have a couple of friends that work in related fields

they don't know one another, and have separately told me that the best single thing to do when having a problem such as you are, is to use the phrase "this is not acceptable". I don't know why, but evidently it can be some sort of a magic door-opener.

Good luck, I hope you get them to do the right thing. That is ridiculous and wildly unfair.

It helps to complain in writing. Put what you wrote here (well, before you started ranting smileys/smile.gif in a

letter, and send it not to customer service, but to Robert J. Bach who is, according to Microsoft's website, President or the Entertainment and Devices Division.

I hope they come around. Condolences to your son.

Yeah, I said that a lot to this supervisor. She claimed there simply were ...

...no options available to me.

How idiotic! If that's how they train their supervisors, I will believe anything.

I was furious! And her answers only inflamed the situation.
