I will be traveling with 10 family members (sis, brother-in-law, niece/nephew and their spouses plus their 4 little ones) but am sure I could break away. I've already made note to stop at Kountry Kitchen. They've been there once but it's my first time. Highlight/must-see on the island?

Yes! You are invited for dinner, cheese. When are you coming?

There is so much to see here. Go to the Kauai Visitor Bureau site and see

Pick some things that interest you- I think the North Shore is the most beautiful place on the island but it is all gorgeous. The best things are free- my favorite place in the world is Hanalei Bay- just walking it or hanging out with friends/family and a picnic. It is so gorgeous. I love the Kilauea Lighthouse and bird sanctuary- you can get up close to amazing tropical birds like Great Frigate Birds, Albatross, etc. A trip down the NaPali Coast is my number one thing to recommend- it is spendy but well worth it. I love Captain Andy's Southern Star Dinner Cruise. Really fabulous. For first-rate food, a tiny place in Kapaa called JO2. It seats only 40 and is owned by Chef Jean-Marie Josselin, one of my very favorites. His food will send you to the moon. Lots of things to dp- helicopter tour, drive up into the Waimea Canyon, Kayak tours, Horseback riding, you name it, it is probably here.

I can't wait!!! I've loved Maui and the Big Island. Sooooo NOT Los Angeles smileys/smile.gif

I'll be there Oct 6-15. Staying at the Kona Coast Resort Beachboy...something like that. My sis and bro-in-law are Shell timeshare members and it's one of their properties.

Got it! I've never been able to send PMs but I can get them. I'll email closer to October smileys/smile.gif
