With the new low-carbing we've been doing I decided to try radishes again. I remember trying them as a child and not liking them, but hey, taste buds change.

Radishes taste exactly like spicy dirt. Ptui!

 
Remember nlb? She recommended saute-ing thin slices in chicken broth. Quite a taste-change.

Same idea for whole cabbages cut into eight segments. Baste the cabbage slabs with chicken broth and butter in the microwave.

I used a glass bread pan so the slabs stayed upright. They wilt, but still retain a measure of integrity. The major bite-iness of raw cabbage is softened and the broth/butter flavor the dish.
