Charley: I made your VIETNAMESE CHICKEN SALAD yesterday ...

It is so light, fresh, and very tasty. Have leftovers for tonight. I served it with broccoli, mushroom stir fry, so we got plenty of veggies.

Not far from our house, is a cool, locally owned small grocery store, very well stocked with high-end products, locally sourced beef, local grapefruit, lemons, limes, etc. They have great cheeses, will cut any cut of meat you can think of. They never charge for bags, carry out your grocery bags, no one wears masks,(we felt very strange with ours on) everyone is very happy, and they have a clientele ranging from the tattooed bunch to ladies who lunch. Get the picture?

Anyway, when I was there yesterday, I saw the biggest, white mushrooms, I have ever seen in my life. Perfectly closed, very fresh and I could not resist. They were awesome, with the broccoli.

Thanks for posting... I served it mixed, dressed only the portion we ate, so the rest of the salad will be fresh for another round tonight.

Hi
I'm. Charlotte smileys/smile.gif

I live in Northern California as well. Could you tell me where this Market is? I've been looking for something like that for a long time. Thank you!

KAREN...:::sorry. smileys/irritated.gif

SO glad you enjoyed it and as with recipes like that, anything goes. ;o) Lucky you to

have the market but please don't apologize for the mask. I hope the other patrons will think of YOUR health and also wear a mask.

Hi Charlotte, which city do you live in?

Here is the link to their website. Great meat cutters, checkers, etc. A no-nonsense bunch of folks running a booming business, they have been here for decades. Love this place.

Nope, was not apologizing, just wanted to state that yes, we are wearing our masks.

Neither of us likes it, my hubby has memory issues and for some reason, he is off balance with a mask, and I find it hard to talk and breathe, but we do it.

We are in the same boat, believe me. But "WE" are the only ones that can get

this under control by doing what is necessary to STOP the virus. It ain't gonna just go away.
It is hot and uncomfortable. But necessary.
Good job!! ;o)

Wow!!

That looks amazing!

I live in Rio Linda, but I'm up that way all the time. We're always passing through on our way to Oregon and sometimes just for kicks. I have got to check that out! Thank you!

Charlotte you should check out nugget market

I think the closest one to you is in Roseville, but there are a few around the Sacramento area. I love that place and wish we had one here in Silicon Valley. The produce displays are amazing. .

I've been to Nugget just north of Sacramento, really liked it. A huge shopping area

is being built up here, just off of 1-5, everyone on this side of the river wanted and wrote letters for high-end shopping. What did we get, Panda Express, Save Mart, Ross Dress for Less, so far. Not sure what the rest will be. Ugh. I have no clue whey put repeat stores in a town the size of this.

I've bern there..

..many times! My husband buys Tomahawk steaks there occasionally. A lot of the high end specialty grocers have left the area. The Raleys group owns Nugget., so I'm always looking for privately own places..like that one in Redding.

Another, if you're ever in Sac..is Corti Brothers. I go there a lot.

I would think Silicon Valley would have many!

)
