Yes, Taunton Press has sold Fine Cooking to Meredith.

Subscribers were not notified before they closed the website (and wiped years of saved data for many users!). It's causing a bit of a stir on Facebook where the company has said: "With the many inquiries, we wanted to provide an update for you regarding Fine Cooking. Unfortunately, the Fine Cooking website and its content is no longer available. However, the magazine will continue to publish."

The August/September print issue came out quite late and was a noticeably inferior product.

re: sinjawns' comments above

I lost many many years of saved data as well, being a reader of Fine Cooking from the start over 20 years ago. I hope the staff there weren't treated as crudely as the magazine transition apparently was. R.I.P. Fine Cooking...

Hi Wigs, this has been devastating for those of us who depend on Fine Cooking

for so many of our recipes. You might be interested in this group on Facebook. Everyone is coming together to try to provide the recipes so many have lost. There are a lot of downloads that you might want to check out as no idea how long they will be available.

So many of us have been subscribers for years and are sad to see such a wonderful resource go.

I would like to add that if you search for Fine Cooking on this site, there are a lot of recipes posted here.

Thank you so much for the Facebook hint. I will certainly access the site you suggest. What a shock

this has happened without prior warning so people would have had a chance to securely save the recipes they access and use from the old FC site.

Basically FC has never valued its website. In a move a number of years ago they

did the same thing. It used to be very much of a family.

That is too bad about Fine Cooking, I felt they were the best cooking magazine out there,

for what I like, anyway. Did they also sell out Fine Gardening? Another great magazine and I get them both.

As for the Aug/Sept issue, I thought it was very nice. I noticed their front and back covers were a much more substantial material, which I liked.
The Farmers' Market ratatouille was the best and easiest I have made. Several other recipes I made were great. I liked the No Churn, No Problem vanilla ice cream, and the following recipes for adding flavors to it.
The Lessons of Lisbon was a great article on Portuguese culture, food, and recipes. My relatives on mom's side of the family were from an area they spoke of.
Oh, and the Sweet corn, Tomato, and Spinach Salad with Blue Cheese was stellar, with a Chicken and Farro dish I made last weekend.

Thanks for helping me out. I also have the DVD of Fine Cooking recipes that was made

for some anniversary. One of those might be around on Ebay or such.
