And am actually drinking it plain. Quite nice. We don't have T J's here for cheap wine, but this was really OK

REC: Mulled Lemon 'N Spice Rose'. Wonderful cold-weather drink!

I make this to serve in the tasting room at my husband's winery, using a semi sweet Rose'. You can adjust the sweetness based on the wine that you are using. A dry red wine might need more sugar.

1 bottle Perdido Vineyards Rose' Cou Rouge (or wine of your choice)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
4 cloves
4 whole allspice
1 piece 1-inch stick cinnamon
2 2-inch twists lemon peel

Combine water, sugar, cloves, allspice and cinnamon in saucepan. Heat to boiling and simmer one minute. Add wine and lemon peel. Heat til steam rises. DO NOT BOIL. Serve in mugs. Makes 6 5-oz. servings.

I make this in a Corningware teapot with a lid, using a thermometer to stop heating at 140 degrees F, then transfer to a thermos to keep it warm. Enjoy!

I haven't tried the other varieties of wine, but some pretty good reviews. I tried a cheap Oak Leaf

and didn't like it at all. this Lucky Duck was quite drinkable and I think it may be 3.99 down your way.

Ang, you really got my curiosity up. Found Lucky Duck Cab from Chile at local WalMart this

afternoon. $3.97/bottle! Sipping it now, it is a very pleasant, drinkable wine, hard to believe it is so inexpensive. Luck Duck imports and bottles wine from other countries. They have a Riesling from Germany, a Spanish red wine, and others from Argentina and Australia, a Malbec and a Shirraz. Thanks for the tip!

I am Mar! I'm singing "I'm a lucky duck"...

and "Life is a ducky cabernet...... won't you come out and play? eeeer-itt!!"

Ahem!

Actually, I do like Oak Leaf's Pinot Grigio for $2.97 at Walmart. Save money, live ducky!
