Checking on CA folks affected by earthquake last night? Everyone okay?

OH no! Not more. Goodness, I am afraid to put the news on in the morning. We are still loaded

with smoke here; I understand that other than at the fires, it's the dirtiest place in the world here. And now we have wind. I hope that doesn't go south to the fires.

Hmmm, down here, 50 miles east of Los Angeles (or so) we actually had mountains in view . . .

The mountains were clear and beautiful for the first day since the Bobcat (to the west of us) and El Dorado (to the east of us) fires started. We drove down lower in our valley when we checked out our mountains (they are a half mile way from our house--we live in their foothills) we could see them, very clear, blue sky, white clouds. We could see where the fires were, both east and west.

--And earthquake, what earthquake? I was asleep, didn't feel a thing.
