Cheez, I made the gooey butter cookies and they were fast and very good. Tweaked them a bit.

I used only 4oz of cream cheese. I thought the fat content was wayyyyy more than enough with the stick of butter and just 1/2 the cream cheese. I did add 2 T of cold coffee to add some moisture and I baked them a bit extra because I didn't want them quite so gooey. Mixed them up in a bowl with a whisk---no mixer needed. It's a nice fast recipe from a cake mix that comes in handy at the cabin. Next batch is waiting in the fridge and I added some finely chopped trader joe's chocolate.http://www.finerkitchens.com/swap/forum/index.php?action=display&forumid=1&msgid=20338

interesting addition - I like the coffee flavoring

I LOVE the gooey part, though, and found that overcooking even by 2 minutes made them too dry for my taste. I'd like to try adding some peanut butter OR pb chips next time.

Sure can't beat the fast and easy part!
