cheezz and Marianne, I received the alphabet pasta and wanted to thank you both

SO welcome!! Now you know what it looks like if you want more on your TJ visit...

don't forget to check out their dried fish and hot sauce, too -- I know you like those.

Hi Ang,

I am still doing the monthly luncheons. In fact that is one of the reason I wanted the alphabet pastas. I am going to use them as a theme for the luncheons this year. I thought it might be kind of cute. The alphabets from TJ's are large enough to do a pasta salad with. With the smaller ones I plan on doing some soups, salads and pilafs. I need to get on the stick and get one planned. I am hoping to get one in during September still. I will let you know what I make. How did your pear cake turn out? Everyone loved the one that I made. I didn't make the streusel topping though.

What kind of dried fish do they have?

And which hot sauce do you like? I used to love their refrigerated fresh salsa, I think it was called Family-Style or something like that. I know that if they still carry it, I will be bringing back pistachios and dried mango.

yup, they have TONS of dried fruit, nuts, trail mix... I don't buy their hot sauce or fish...

but I will certainly be glad to scope it out for ya smileys/smile.gif

My faves are their chocolate chips (including the mint choc chips), truffles, chocolate raspberry sticks, almond meal, dried fruits and nuts of course, pomegranate juice, 53% cocoa lo-sugar bars, pb filled pretzels, low-fat cheese krispies (like Cheetos)... oh heck, the list just goes on and on smileys/smile.gif

I hope you're taking a rented trailer when you visit them!

the pear cake is simply marvelous! we had a smaller turnout, just 8 adults, but cake disappeared

and I had to give out the recipe. I'm making another today and will freeze it and take it with me to Indiana for my Dad on Friday.(this one will have the rum substitution!) I will leave this one plain. the caramel topping was good, but a bit too many walnuts.

Be still my heart. There is one opening in KC? I am going to the one

near my sister's house when I go to visit her. I hadn't heard they were opening one in KC.

That's okay. I don't know why they don't open one in KC. I know

they would be very well received. I just saw a lady the other day with a TJ tote bag and had to go up and start talking to her about TJs. She visits her sister too and stocks up on TJ products. At least I can go to one once in awhile when I am visiting my sister. smileys/smile.gif

Those TJ bags are really openers, aren't they? I was in Nordstrom's in Austin with one

and was stopped by a woman who was soooo excited! I hated to bring her down and tell her that Austin was NOT on the list -- she'd have to go to Dallas.
