Cheezz, I made the apple slab pie yesterday - looks amazing! Tonight we dig in!

I had so much fun making this (and I did use reduced apple cider)! Ever since I purchased a pastry cloth to roll out my dough (it makes it so easy!) I've loved making pie. Your/Smitten's recipe called out to me and I looked forward to making it all week (I made the pie dough last week and froze it).

We have 11 moving in with us for the weekend (this is a small group - lol) and I can't wait to serve this tonight.

Thank you so much for posting:)

Can't wait to hear how you like it!! I'm thinking of making a cherry version

using Trader Joe's Morello cherries. I reduce the juice just like you do for the apple pie and it really amps up the flavor. Next time I make the apple slab, I'm adding grains of paradise. Hmmmmm....I wonder how that would go with cherries....

HUGE hit!!! Everyone loved it (is loving it). I made a thicker glaze

(more powdered sugar/heavy cream) so the drizzle were thicker.

This is definitely going to be on my dessert buffet at our big party next summer (we've decided to do a big "unparty" every summer based on our anniversary party this last June) - lots of people, great food games but not tent, decorations, etc. (to keep costs down).

Thank you! I so loved making this.

I'm guessing cherries, blueberries, etc. would be GREAT!

Actually, Angie, that is next week and it will be served that way then...this was for family though

For the 'dress rehearsal' we had smileys/smile.gif
