Cherry question. I want to bake Tom's Cheery Cherry Berry Pie 2009 National Pie Champion

I'd think you'd want fresh, frozen or canned cherries for the right

filling consistency. Reconstituted dried cherries are no more like fresh than a reconstituted sun-dried tomato is like a fresh tomato. But it might make an interesting pie. smileys/smile.gif

I think dried Michigan cherries are a little sweeter than sour Montmorency, but given the small amount used in the recipe I don't think a substitution would throw things off that much.

Sounds like a good pie!
