Chocolate chips are dangerous!!

I just bit into cold cccookie dough and into a cc...it broke my tooth in half! I've never had more that a filling wrong with my teeth (and braces as a kid) and now on the chewing side - half a molar...and I must've swallowed the tooth itself.

Oh and currently I have no dentist for my new (I think I'm covered) insurance and my old (current) dentist only has VM - no emergency number. Gah!

Be careful of the evil chocolate!!!

It's like the ultimate betrayal!

but seriously, good luck at the dentist... that's such a horrible thing to have happen!!!

It is!!!

I couldn't reach my reg dentist (why no emerg # and only VM?) but got an appt with a clinic that takes the new insurance on Wed...and then I said, I expect I'll need a crown, how much is covered? "Zero" (Insurance co said it would be covered). Well, then why would I go there? The search will continue on Monday I guess. Mean time...I'm hungry!

Hubby just went thru this last week

Cracked a tooth ( I say eating almonds) and went to the DDS and he referred him to an endodontist. He thought he might be able to save the tooth and do a root canal and crown, but wouldn't know until he starting working on it. Went back the next am and he realized he couldn't save the tooth. Walked him across the hall to a oral surgeon that since it was so early in the am, was able to fit him in. Since he was already numbed up to the 9th degree, and it was the back molar, extraction. No root canal, no crown.
He never has had even a filling and was freaking out. But as a veteran of various dental procedures, I was the perfect nurse. Babied the crap out of him and cooked soft food long after I knew he could eat normal. Me, had 4 teeth extracted and I was eating garlic bread that night....... H never had any pain and stopped pain pills after the 1st day. I don't think he really needed them anyway, but better safe than sorry. He's fine now.
Good luck!!!

I'm hoping they can save it...

I just looked again -- I've got about 3/4 of the tooth -- and the filling is still in place. However, it broke at the gumline, so don't know. I've never had anything like this happen before.

There is no such thing as a "piited" olive. Don't believe it, even if it has two holes with pimento

hanging out both openings.

No such thing as a pitted olive!

Shattered one of my teeth vertically.... top to root, it you can imagine it.

Salad bar stuffed olive on the first evening of Boy Scout Camp, in the mountains. I ate Advil like skittles all night, until I could get down the mountain and have a fellow Boy Scout Dad put an emergency filling in.

Zoinks.

Hope you feel better soon Maria.

Michael
