Chocolate chips in "Look No Further Chocolate Cake"

My daughter wants a chocolate cake with chocolate chips in it for her birthday. I plan to make the "Look No Further Chocolate Cake." I've never made this cake before. Should I use semisweet or milk chocolate chips? Also, are there any tips for keeping the chips well distributed in the batter?

Hi Cindy. I would use semi-sweet, and if you shake them with a bit of flour before adding

to the batter, that is supposed to help them stay put.

I add choco chips frequently to cakes without sinking problems w/out flouring them first.

Can you post the recipe? I would use semi- sweet , but if you post the recipe, it would give

us a better idea on how sweet or bittersweet the cake is, etc., and which chips would complement the cake better, etc.
