Chris Kimball's new venture.

What a great adventure for him. I love that he is taking part of an old building

and bringing a new life back into it. I never could get used to Cook's Illustrated. I did read it from time to time but all the experiments, one after another soon bored me You have to have a lot of patience to do what he did.

He certainly knows how to reinvent himself. I wish him the best.

Have you ever seen the building the Pioneer Woman redid in her little Oklahoma town.

It is stunning!!
Chris has always been so "above it all" for me. His chefs, Bridget and Jack are the cookbook authors really.

I've never seen where it actually opened. I don't go to her website anymore...

every recipe of hers that I've made is delicious but has also given me indigestion from too much fat.

Saw the photos from a few years back, but no news articles about being able to shop/eat there. The whole upstairs is office space for them, right?

They had the opening on. And all the planning leading up to it. I love her

recipes when I do them. Can always cut down on what you want, of course. Reese Witherspoon is going to make the movie of her autobiography. Ree Drummond had a REALLY good and neat interview on our morning NPR talk show in the past year. If you are interested, I'll do an archive search for it.

I have been following the story of the "Merc" since the inception. I love how they took their time

and did everything with lots of love and respect for the old building. They also have purchased the building across the street, another oldie with history. This second building will be use as a warehouse for the Merc. They bought all used shelving which came in in several colors. She has really good stories about the buildings in her "Confessions" link. I rarely make any of her recipes, but the ones I have made are always good. I have to admire Ree who admits to being a vegetarian when she married and had to change her way of cooking and eating, No way was she going to change the cowboys, they need the calories....her husband and children have no weight issues. Her girls are rail thin. She has made a gold mine out of her life!
