Barbara Uhlmann's Pound Cake

4 cups Heckers/Ceresota Unbleached All Purpose Flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
12 eggs, large, separated
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon flavoring

Sift flour and baking powder together. Beat the egg yolks lightly, and add the flavorings. Cream the butter and sugar until light, then add the egg yolks alternately with flour, beating after each addition.

Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry, then fold them into the other mixture, and mix only until well blended.

Pour into a well greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake in a preheated 350 Degree F. oven for 1 hour 15 minutes. Leave in pan about 5 minutes, then remove and cool on a rack.
