Cooking as a teaching tool

Might be, but I do like the website. Welcome, Irenes, if you 're here to be a contributor - introdu

introduce yourself ) There really isn't anything to sell at that site anyway, really.

And it's true. Some of the teachers at my school brought in real brownies

one day when the course used brownies as an example to teach fractions, and they said that the kids really remembered the work. I'm starting to use that course this coming year, so I guess I have teaching brownies in my future as well.

We aren't even allowed to bring cupcakes into the classroom for birthdays in California smileys/frown.gif

Son's 1st grade teacher often taught lessons by cooking in class..

It taught them to follow directions, work together, how to use fractions (i.e. which measuring cups to get 3/4 cup), etc.

He loved that class and the teacher (and so did I)!

With the peanut allergies, etc., and who know HOW clean our kitchens might be... well... so sad!

cheez, I'd bet any amt of $ that 99 of 100 home kitchens are FAR CLEANER than most restaurant kits!
