had in restaurants. I liked that it was all sausages (plus bacon and hock meat) rather than pork shoulder, which many recipes use. And the apple is a great touch. As soon as we started eating it we were making a list of friends we'd have to serve it to.

The knockwurst burst, but they often do anyway, like weisswurst, and some people would say that's how they should be eaten. The bratwurst didn't burst. And I had just bought this year's juniper berries too, so they were put to good use. Thanks again--a definite keeper.

find a date to make it for M&D; and in-laws...
