cyalexa2 - this reminds me of that sausage toast. Spiced Lamb Burger in pita.

that looks good and I really like lamb

Thanks for thinking of me!

I saved it but probably won't try it until fall as it is too hot for me to grill in the summer. I'm fairly sensitive to heat and my grill is against the west wall of my brick house. The heat radiating off of the bricks, the blazing sun, and the heat of the grill are too much for me.

Did you try the sausage crostini?

I'm planning trying the whipped feta you posted. It looks great.

I really like the spice combination. I don't see how the lamb would get done though, before the

pita burned. I hope someone tries it to report back.

there were several positive reviews on the link

The picture showed the pitas pretty charred but I like charred bread and wouldn't consider it burned.

I agree, however, it would be good to hear from someone here re. how the recipe works.

I agree, and it better be REALLY lean lamb, and not a whole

lot in the stuffing.
I love lamb, but I am not sure that lamb fat in the pita is a great thing.

I saw this recipe in the magazine.... (more)

I think the only way this can work is if the lamb filling is very thin....

I almost never buy ground lamb because I find it a bit too fatty, but this recipe seems like a nice twist to use it

I'm thinking about the math. I think that averages 5 ounces of lamb per pita and

a pita is about 8-10" round. Comparing it to a burger, it's less meat per serving stretched over a larger diameter. I haven't tried this yet, but definitely looking forward to it!
