Dallas is a mecca when you live in rural Oklahoma!

I had several excellent meals, notably: the tasting menu with paired wines at Abacus; mussels and beer at Meddlesome Moth; pork dumplings and hand pulled noodles at Royal China; and a vegetarian buffet at Kalachandjis. I brought home 2 cases of wine from Goody Goody; and vinegar, olive oil, mustard, and cheese from Trader Joes. I also found some good buys at a Crate and Barrel outlet. Can't wait to go back!!!

near Stillwater; about an hour north of OKC

Kalachandis was both pretty and peaceful.

I hope you made it back ok...

... I can totally understand the feeling of cannot waiting to go back home!

hits me every time after a couple of days away smileys/wink.gif

I had to drive through a storm.

But not the huge one that destroyed homes later that night. I made it back in one piece., No doubt a bigger piece than when I left, given how much I ate!

I was happy to be home, of course, but in my OP I meant that I can't wait to go back to Dallas. I had a couple really remarkable meals - on a par with my favorite all-time restaurant meal at Redd in Yountville. If I was ever going to write a blog it would be titled, "Will Travel for Food".

I'll be back in the fall - after it cools a little. Will let you know!
