Dark Chocolate Mousse....

this would be delicious of course, but my all time favorite

chocolate mousse recipe would be Julia's and I made it for every dinner party we had when we first moved to our town. My "reputation" was made!!
No whipped cream IN it--you could put a dollop on top. But the airiness came from the egg whites incorporated. And of course, the chocolate could be your choice of dark.
I don't think I religiously followed the ice bath routine, etc. making it a tad easier.

looks good, what else was on the menu

Joe's VD dinner request - meatloaf, peas, mashed potatoes and gravy, pineapple-coconut upside down cake. I meant to make him a pina colada from the leftover pineapple juice but forgot. I will try to remember tonight so he gets his celebration spread over 2 days!

I have this on my "to do" list. Such a fun show. I love the Kitchen Confessions part of it

Yesterday Sunny was all embarrassed about the fake coffee in her pantry. Marcela confessed to a frozen, package of a PB&J sandwich for Fausto. Never knew there was such a thing. By the time you took that thing out of the freezer, you could have used that time to make one, IMHO.

Does it really come out that pale? I would think any item named *dark* chocolate

mousse would "look" a bit more like dark chocolate.

Yes, it turned out pale... (more)

and I was a bit surprised. In fact, I even cut back on the whipped cream because I thought it would make it even paler

maybe it's the chocolate I used?

still it tasted fantastic and not too sweet, which for me is important. Hate sugary desserts

Thank you

I have a few choc mousse recipes in the blog already and doubt I'll be making any choc mousse again for a year or so, not the type of dessert we enjoy very often

but next on line will be Julia's
