Darn! I missed the annual lavender festival in Red Creek - thought it was next

weekend instead. The store is open all summer, but they had demonstrations and goodies this weekend; also picking lavender bundles and wands (whatever they are, but it sounded fun).

So now the question: if I want to make some butter cookies with lavender in them (or some lavender brownies, even lavender tea), do I use the purple part or the leaves? Looks like I'm going to have to make 'em myself again this year... using Splenda for part of the sugar.

Darn, I really wanted to go again this year!

 
ME remind you?! Hahah, sure, it's a date! I think there might be one near you later on this

summer though - in the Catskills, sorta near you... I'll try and see if I can find it online.

 
I feel your pain. I missed the local Pangiri Greek Festival, all that grilled lamb...

pastitsio, and Greek pastries lovingly made by the ladies of the church and I have to wait another whole year.
