Dawn_MO, How is your healing coming? Hope it almost time for no casts! ((((Dawn))))

Well, thanks, still waiting for documents, missed couple good jobs,Getting plants in on deck

Hi Nan and Curious...(long NFRC)

the right cast was removed on Friday and replaced with a velcro splint, but I am not allowed to liftmore than a dinner plate, being able to freely move my fingers has helped me be able to do a few more tasks. The fixator will remain on my left arm for another two weeks and then they will cast it. I posted a photo of the fixator on photobucket. That was taken the day after I got home from the hospital, so it looks much better now and the swelling has gone down a lot.
The dentist thinks I have a fracture in my jaw bone and one of my teeth. So I am not sure how we will be proceeding with that, I should find out today. I am seeing my GP on Thursday for a follow-up on my skull fracture. I am still get dizzy so I think she wants me to get some more xrays. I think I practically glow at night!
My MIL has been here for the last ten days and left yesterday, she was such a godsend. My two sisters and my niece are coming out for a few days to help out also. My friends and family have been wonderful, I am so lucky.
Thanks for you well wishes!

My,what a contraption!Sounds like you are on your way&so glad you have had help.Do those plate lifts

whoa (((Dawn))) that looks like something from the Spanish Inquistion :-0 I hope it's not as

painfull as it looks.

Wow, I don't see how you can even type! I hope you are feeling

better really soon! Ouch. Nice you have your family there to help.

Ouch- that looks painful. I'm sure you are taking it one day at a time, Dawn

The pain must be just awful. You are my new hero. I am scheduled for shoulder surgery in two days and after seeing what you are dealing with, I know my recovery will be nothing compared to yours.

Did you find out about your jaw and tooth? I'm so sorry this happened to you, please keep us

up to date on your progress, I think of you often. BTW, did you see the reports that the peanut processing plant in GA responsible for the tainted peanut butter was known to have problems for some time? Really helps with having confidence in our food supply.

Thanks everyone,

it isn't my most favorite appliance but is doing a necessary job, and doesn't hurt much anymore. My broken wrists probably saved my life, otherwise it would have been my head full on into the front door. Amazing what one little mis-step can cause. I am right-handed and that wrist is much less injured than the left, so I am mostly typing one-handed, using my left thumb to shift for capitals. I think it is good physical therapy because both the nurse and surgeon said my finger movement is really really good. I go tomorrow for the follow-up on the skull fractue, and I have to wait threemore weeks for the dentist, so he can observe what the teeth are doing. On the bright side, I get to shower with my husband everyday! smileys/wink.gif And I just managed to dry my own hair with an electric round drying round brush thingy. My days of my husband fixing my hair are over...yay! Picture The Incredible Hulk fixing hair for a Styling Head Barbie. He would get done and say, "there that looks nice, I like it all messy like that." I had to smile.

It varies, but usually

on my back with my left arm on a pillow, on the left side of the bed with my right arm either above my head or tucked into my body. I actually sleep pretty well considering. How's your garden doing? Do you have a lot of bulbs planted?

garden is just waking up. I bought tulips, but didn't get them planted, so just a few oldies are

poking up. Our tulips and daffodils usually don't come back, so we plant them as annuals in the fall. I'm sad that I didn't get them in, but may try to put the bulbs in pots, since they are sprouting anyway in my garage. rhubarb is poking up and so are delphiniums and bleeding heart, and the blasted chives are trying to take over the garden once again. Spring has sprung, but lawns are still brown. the spurge that I have growing in the rocks is nice and green. It's the first bit of green we have---very hardy.
