up before the party? Actually, I guess I could have the dough pressed in the tart shells and the mixture made ahead of time, then just fill and bake before the party. I think that's what I'll do. I've never done that, however, I've made them and then frozen them...

and they were wonderful when heated up.

I think I would follow your game plan about making the mixture/dough ahead of time but baking at the last minute.

You could also probably prepare it the day before, then freeze, and then bake. (I would worry about the dough getting soggy if it remained, filled, in the fridge overnight).
