Delicious - Savoy Cabbage Gratin

Try this very T&T combo sometime, Lisa- it is one of my favorite sides

PEPPERY SAUTÉED CABBAGE & NOODLES
(serves 4)
6 T butter, melted
4 cups shredded cabbage
1 small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1-1/2 T sugar
salt, pepper
8 oz thin egg noodles, cooked
1 T poppy seed
Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cabbage, onion and garlic, and sauté until lightly browned (about 8 minutes). Mix in sugar, salt, and lots of pepper.
Add noodles and toss with poppy seed. Reduce heat, and heat until warmed through.

Sounds like real comfort food. My DH has been talking about egg noodles, so this would be great!

Have you ever made your own noodles? I'd like to try that. I've made other pastas, but would like to make some "old fashioned" style ones like you get in all home made chicken soup, etc.

I'm thinking your recipe might also be good with spaetzle(?)
