One of my fondest memories is when dh and I were first married and we took so much pleasure in cooking together. We went through our phases such as stir fry, seriously spicy anything, and dh even made beer. Now he works like crazy and we don't take the time like we used to.
My favorite type of cooking is anything where I can keep moving. In other words, not baking (I compare baking to laundry).
I am fortunate enough to reside close to friends who also have the passion, so we watch and learn from each other.
I like to tweak recipes if they are keepers, but tend to follow them precisely the first time. Maybe someday I will gain the confidence to be more creative. I'm working on it.
