dh said that he wants to work on losing weight. I was going to purchase

Good Question.... Body Weight scale. I just remember the one that my parents had

which was probably from the 60's, that funky green color, and you can change your weight, depending on what foot you stood on!! There was a dial that moved around. Our's was cushioned, so my friends were envious. AND, I do not think you could weigh more than 200... That is my experience with scales. So, thoughts are appreciated!

No help here. Mine is from 1986 and it's still on the same battery. I weight 1 pound less on my left

foot than stepping on wtih my right foot first.

That's why I eat all candy with my left hand.

Hi Barb! I have a digital scale and you don't have to do anything

to it. Just hop on. It's A Thinner Elegant Glass scale. We got it at Sharper Image eons ago and haven't had any problem with it. Other than some Monday mornings I'm not that happy with it!

I went through FOUR scales (pieces of junk but expensive) before I found the Health O Meter I love

I needed something that would actually tell me accurate weight and found the first three scales did not do that. I checked them against my doctor's scale at the clinic to be sure. Sometimes I found the scales to be off as much as 8 lbs! I found the Health O Meter scale at Walmart. I expected it to be junk too but it isn't. It is accurate. It is always accurate. That is all you can expect from a scale. I recommend this brand.

Funny, my scale was always wildly off from my doctor's too. I got a new scale and was

shocked to find it right on target. First time in my entire life!

I have a Taylor digital model, it does weight and body composition

and I've had no issues with it over 5 years. I bought it at Costco for under $30.

With digital scales, I would recommend you "calibrate" it by finding an extremely flat surface to place it on (and no, the floor is not always level). Do so after you've visited your Drs office so you know your true weight. My scale would fluctuate by 3 - 5 lbs if on an uneven surface.
