DH's Weekend Cooking Lesson......Rump Roast in Beer

This recipe would be very easy to take lots of calories out without leaving taste out

Make your own cream of mushroom soup, using low fat milk, adding a thickener. Use 2%cheeses and non-fat sour cream. There are so many great lower calorie products out now and I have used them with great success. There is even a Campbell's low fat Cream of Mushroom soup which I have used. It would be fine mixed in with all these other ingredients.

 
Larry simplified this even further: Mix the noodles, chicken and sauce together

Spoon half in the casserole dish, cover with half the cheese, spoon in the other half, cover with the rest of the cheese. No need to layer noodles & chicken separately, then sauce, then cheese.

Also we made this batch with Fat-free, low-sodium "cream of chicken" soup. It works, but the flavor is a bit flat. I think the original full-frontal sodium attack on innocent taste buds causes a numbing effect.

 
I'll take the numbing effect Mar. What the hey, your original version is the sinful and

"to die for" version that appeals to me! I have to try this one day.
