Dianncy64 I used the barkeepers friend on my blanket it worked great! MarilynFL I would never use a

well sweetie, you're probably concerned with getting the right answers, while all I care

about is filling the blanks.

Gail ~ awsome ~ I used it yesterday to take out a grease stain on the carpet 100%

My son is a mechanic and when he visited he had some stuff on his shoe ~ What a nightmare and to boot I have light beige color carpet and it's 100% gone

BTW Joe felt bad about the grease mark.

I love this stuff it works on everything smileys/smile.gif

Dianne, my "go to" for grease stains is V05, but I have one pair of pants

where even that isn't working.

Do you make a paste with the powder? Let it dry?
Let it sit for awhile?

I sprinkle some on, use a wet old toothbrush and brush and blot with a damp/wet dishcloth, add more

powder directly on repeat with a wet old toothbrush until out.

Whenever I get an oily stain from food splattering while it's cooking, I use...

...a dab of Dawn.

No, not Dawn/MO, or even Dawn/NYS, but Dawn liquid dish detergent.

I use my finger to rub it in and then throw the item back in the laundry pile to wait for laundry day. Launder as usual, and out comes the spot.

This even works on spots that have been "set" by having gone through the laundry once, including the dryer. Works on all colors, even darks.

Michael

Michael, I've tried Dawn, V05, Oxyclean, Shout, and a degreaser. Nothing

has worked.

By the time I find something that does work, I'll have probably frayed the fabric so much it will be ruined anyway.

(It wouldn't be so bad if the stain wasn't on my butt...which is NOT something I want to call attention to.)

Marilyn, have you tried K2r spot lifter? It's in an aerosol can and turns into a white powder when

it dries. Then you brush it off and the stain should be gone. It's my last resort for lifting grease stains. It can be hard to find, I think I bought the last can at an Ace Hardware store and they may have it at Home Depot.

Marilyn, Iknow this souns crazy, but someone once told me that WD 40 takes out grease stains. If

nothing else works give it a try.

And if that doesn't work try Orvus, somekind of horse soap. If that doesn't work for goodness sake

give it up!

Marilyn, I have used CLUB SODA to loosen up stains (on carpets and such) and it loosens up the stain

I then would blot it up, then use a cleanser to get the rest up and from now on my cleanser would be barkeeps.

I used the club soda when my doggies mess the carpet and it works, I keep 4 qt bottles of club soda (any brand) on hand. The bubbly of the carbonation loosens up the stain.

Give it a try. and try the barkeepers again, I have gotten up my sons greasy partial footprint of the carpet using it. I would have used the club soda if I hadn't stumbled on the barkeepers.
